School Workshops Available Now!! Book Now!!
I can come and deliver my cross curricular poetry workshops and using drama and role play, give your pupils (primary and senior) the freedom of writing
poetry. Everyone of all abilities, including pupil premium groups can participate, from those requiring support to the most able. They can 'break all the rules of writing and grammar',
because it's all about choices and how they want to use words and shape 'their poems'.
Black History 'LIKE A PHOENIX RISING OUT OF THE ASHES' for Yr6 plus teens poetry book available at £4.99
each.
BLACK CIVIL RIGHTS
Here is an opportunity to take a whistle stop journey through the struggles and vision of the Black civil rights movement
TRANSITION
Your high ability and gifted and talented pupils can be
extended and challenged to use -
imagery
adjectives
adverbs
simile
metaphor
alliteration
enjambment
personification
preposition etc etc
in writing their poetry.
This is a medium that can build confidence and self esteem, as they see that they can write and that it is valued as an art form.
Over time, children I have worked with in poetry workshops have covered topics such as: the environment, Rights Of A Child,
hopes and aspirations, the seasons, family,
TRANSITION, extreme weather, super heroes and dragons. Children MOVING ON to a new school, have enjoyed
exploring that whole scenario through discussion, role play and finally writing their own poems.
I liked writing the poems because we were able to express our feelings.
